Happy 2-7 baby!

I have been SO horrible with pictures lately! Maybe that should be my resolution for next year? Anyway last week we celebrated Philip's 27th birthday! It's so crazy to think I met Philip when he was 20 years old!
Unfortunately we both had to work, but that didn't stop us from celebrating. After work we went out to eat at Rodizio Grill and it was delicious! Rodizio is one of our favorite places to eat. After we ran a a few errands we finished up our night getting cookies at this yummy place at the Gateway. Everyone should try it sometime. They are DELICIOUS! I loved seeing all the lights downtown too! Love Christmas time!
Hmm. We are so cute. I just can't get over it! Happy birthday to my best friend! I love you so much Philip and I can't wait to celebrate the rest of our birthdays together.

Better late than never...

One of our favorite games of the year is the blackout game! Of course we got all decked out for the event!

Go Utes!

Love the pictures with the black stadium! So awesome!

And of course it was a Utah win for the night. Love having season tickets!

After the Utah game we had to head straight to the Real game. Nothing better than two of our favorite things to do in one night. Plus I picked up my awesome new beanie with Swoop on it (Utah's mascot). Be jealous!

I'm really sad that both Real and Utah are over for now. With all this down time we run out of things to do. March is only a few months away right?

God Gave Me You

Blake Shelton is one of my favorite country artists. I absolutely love him. He has special meaning to me because one of his songs was played at my dad's funeral. One of his most recent songs is "God Gave Me You." Every time Philip and I hear it we can't help but think of each other. I love love love this song and I'm so glad that God gave me Philip!

"God Gave Me You"

I’ve been a walking heartache
I’ve made a mess of me
The person that I’ve been lately
Ain’t who I wanna be

But you stay here right beside me
And watch as the storm blows through
And I need you

Cause God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
And for when I think I lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it’s true
God gave me you
Gave me you

There’s more here than what we’re seeing
A divine conspiracy
That you, an angel lovely
Could somehow fall for me
You’ll always be love’s great martyr
And I’ll be the flattered fool
And I need you

God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
And for when I think I lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it’s true
God gave me you

On my own I’m only
Half of what I could be
I can’t do without you
We are stitched together
And what love has tethered
I pray we never undo

Cause God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
And for when I think I lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it’s true
God gave me you, gave me you.
He gave me you.

Lately..

Thanksgiving has come and gone. This year Philip's family all came into town and I think I have maybe 5 pictures. So I'll have to see if his family posts any that I can steal. It was a busy week, but it was so fun to see everyone. Wednesday was Dixie's birthday (Philip's mom) and we went down to Salt Lake to take family pictures and stayed the night so we could wake up early on Thanksgiving and run a 5k. I know a 5k what was I thinking? It definitely wasn't my cup of tea, but maybe if I was in shape I would've enjoyed it better. Philip had a really good time (like in how fast he ran haha) and got a ribbon for beating the Cottonwood Height's mayor in the race! Way to go Philip! Then later that day we had Thanksgiving with his family, then went to Roy and had it with mine, and then finished our night back in Salt Lake to hang out with his family before some of them left town. It was busy, but it was fun. I love holidays. Black Friday Philip had to work so we both missed the Utah game. Bummer (or maybe not since they lost to the worst team in the league)! I decided to go out later in the day to get some birthday shopping/Christmas shopping done. I think I got 90% of it done that day with some killer deals.

Now that Real's season is over and Utah's is practically over we haven't really been doing much. Just work and school. This week is final's week and I don't think we could be more ready to have a break. School has been so time consuming for us, but I think it's been good. I'm so proud of Philip for all the hard work that he has done this semester. After taking so many classes just to take them he is finally on track and should have his Associate's Degree next semester! Way to go Philip! I technically have my Associate's Degree this semester, but since I transferred to Weber I have to have 20 credits there to apply for it. So if all goes as planned Philip and I will both have them next semester. How cool will that be to walk together? I think that it would be awesome.

Other than school we've been doing a little bit of remodeling in our house. Nothing to fancy just fixing up our  bathrooms up a bit and trying to get all of other rooms looking how we would like them to look. It's kind of hard to get everything 100% when there's only 2 people living in a 5 bedroom house, but there's definitely been some progress lately. When the bathrooms are up and finished I'll take some pictures and put them on here. The upstairs bathroom looks great! I absolutely love how our new vanity looks in it.

Tootsie, Trouble, and Bentley are still as spoiled as ever. We had Tootsie fixed at the beginning of November and it was seriously so hard on her. It broke my heart to see her like that and I think it broke Bentley's too. He was bummed out that she wanted nothing to do with him for a straight week. Ever since her swelling went down and her allergic reaction to shot she has been like a brand new puppy. She has sooo much energy and always wants to play. Trouble still has been bringing in mice or whatever else she can find outside. I swear she is the most obese cat ever and we definitely aren't over feeding her. It's all what she's finding outside. Crazy cat. Bentley is just Bentley. Now that Tootsie is feeling better he barely leaves her side unless he thinks he hears someone coming to our house then he'll go into guard dog mode.

That's all for now on our updates. This is long and boring and I'm sure most of you won't read it, but it's always nice to look back and see what was going on in our life, so I like to have these updates.

Crafty Christmas

Every year at work each team gets together to make a basket (or other miscellaneous things) full of different things so that it can be bid on for charity. This year somehow I got tricked into making a wreath with gift cards to random food places.  A "Food For Thought" wreath.

Here's a picture of the wreath before I added the gift cards in. I don't really think the picture does the wreath justice. It turned out so cute! It's amazing what $25 at Hobby Lobby can do.
Picture is from my phone so it's not very good quality

I added on some fake gift cards of the different food places my team pitched in to buy gift cards to and this is the final project. I'm a little bummed that I didn't make this wreath for our house, but at least it's for a good cause and all of the money that people spend to bid on our wreath will be going to charity. Who knows maybe I'll put in a bid and bring it home? (Most likely not, I've never won before haha)

This is Halloween. :0)

Love being an aunt!

Last night Philip and I took my niece and nephew to Nightmare on 13th. My nephew has been constantly begging his parents to go to haunted house ever since he started to see them pop up around town. We all kind of wondered how he would do.

L.j. was literally sitting on the edge of his seat. Every time Philip slowed down he would have to look out the windows to see if we were there. It must have been very exhausting being so excited to go to a haunted house and he crashed on our way to SLC.
Once we pulled into the parking lot L.j. was stoked! He was so excited to be there!
I must tell you he handled it like a champ! He held his aunt's hand and made sure I was holding him extra close (which I totally don't mind, I figure I only have a couple more years of this now), but no tears came from this kid. He did jump and get startled a lot, but even I couldn't believe how strong he was! I think I got scared more than he did at times. When we walked out we asked him what he thought and he said, "That was AWESOME!!" We all had a blast together and I enjoyed being able to spend time with Majesta and L.j. Seriously being an aunt is one of my favorite things ever! I'm so lucky to have the cute nieces and nephews that I do.
We told L.j. that we think the zombies got a hold of him because he could barely keep his eyes open when we stopped to eat and as soon as we got in the car he was out for the count.

Love him..

Just had to share an adorable picture of my newest nephew.
