Oh...... BOY!!!!

Yup that's right, we're having a little 

BOY! 

Can I just tell you how excited we are?

We just got done at our doctor appointment and found out that we're expecting a little boy. Although we really didn't have any gut feelings as to what we were having I think we both kind of expected a little girl. I was completely surprised when our doctor told us it was a BOY!! Philip says he wasn't really surprised, but I think I had convinced myself that we were having a girl. Apparently he was doing a headstand so we couldn't get a good facial shot of him today, but according to the doc his heart and everything else looked great.

Treyson Isaac Gray

I'd be lying if I said we didn't have your name picked out for probably years, but I think it's going to fit you. Philip and I both loved the name Trey, but I couldn't name you Trey Gray... So one day out of nowhere we thought hmmm Treyson and we both loved it! Your middle name comes from Philip's grandpa. Philip's grandpa was a great guy and Philip couldn't be more happy to be able to name you after him. 

All in all we can't wait to meet you little Treyson. We already love you so much! Here's hoping the next 5 months go quickly!

The Big Announcement!

Mother's Day weekend we had a big announcement for our family. We decided to surprise them with the news that we are expecting a baby in December. I know I didn't update again after my last doctor appointment, but they bumped our due date back to 12/12/12. So we're just sticking with that for now. We heard the baby's little heartbeat and it was a strong 160 bpm which has Philip completely convinced that it's a girl. At our last appointment though it had slowed down quite a bit. Anyway, back to the announcement. We made some cute cards to give to our family (and the few close friends that we told early). Here's a pic of what they looked like..

 

Of course we had to feature our other kids in the announcement.

 I know the pictures of the cards aren't the best, but you get the picture!

We decided to wait and tell everyone else (well those that the news hadn't leaked out to yet) after our next appointment. The appointment came just at the right time because the last part of our trip in Texas I got super sick. I hadn't been able to keep any food, drink, or anything down for the last week and a half before my appointment. We went to the doctor and he noticed my big drop in weight and prescribed me some medicine that's been helping a ton! I don't really have any cravings anymore. Mostly I have to force myself to eat, but I am doing tons better! It was crazy to see the difference in ultrasounds from the visit before to this visit. The baby had grown quite a bit and was moving around. We were able to see the hands and feet, it was really fun! Even though my health wasn't the best the doctor said the baby is doing great! We should find out what we're having next appointment!

 

Philip is obsessed with this ultrasound picture. He's convinced it looks like an alien so this is the picture of choice he shows everyone. What a weirdo!

Our Trip to Texas!

A few weeks ago we went to Texas for our anniversary/vacation and we had a blast! The first part of the trip we stayed in San Antonio.

 

This was the view from our hotel room. It's the Tower of the Americas.  It stands 750 ft tall. On our anniversary we had dinner there at the Chart House Restaurant!

Our hotel was so close to everything. This is the Alamo above and it was just a short walk away. We both thought the Alamo was a lot bigger, but it was still cool to see. 

 Here's some pics from the Riverwalk. There are all sorts of restaurants and dessert places. It was a fun environment. 

 The city was so pretty when it was lit up at night. I have no clue what the building on the left is but it looked awesome with the red, white, and blue at night.

  Our hotel had a free breakfast and this is what the pancakes looked like.

 

Like I mentioned earlier we went to eat at the Chart House Restaurant for our anniversary. We made our reservations right before the sunset so we could see the city. The restaurant spins while you're eating so you can get a different view of the city. It was awesome! We made it all the way around before we left.

 Philip took me on a carriage ride after dinner! It was the best. Plus we got valet service to our hotel.

After our trip to San Antonio we went back to Houston to spend some time with Philip's brother and his family. Which means we got to spend lots of time with this cute little guy below. Brayden was lots of fun and supplied tons of entertainment while we were there.

 We went to a Houston Astros game. Our seats were awesome! Plus we made it on the big screen the first 5 minutes we were there.

 Next up we went to the Houston Zoo. I love going to zoos in other states just to see the difference. Then I always leave feeling bummed out because our zoo is so much lamer than everywhere else. We had lots of fun seeing all the animals. Especially the baby giraffe below. So cute!

 We spent the last few days of our trip just hanging out with our family. Philip's brother Jonathan had a rally for beach retreat at his church and we held some alligators and ate some crawdads.

We had lots of fun hanging out with Brayden!

Baby Gray

 Well it's official! We're having a baby! April 11 we finally got to see our Baby T for the first time. You may ask why Baby T, well both of the names we have picked out for you rather you are a boy or girl start with T. We are expecting you right around your dad's birthday. The due date that you are measuring at would be 12/8/12 and your dad's birthday is 12/7. So far we haven't told anyone else that we are expecting you. We want to keep you our little secret until we know a little more about you. I don't know if your dad is playing by the same rules though. I know how he is. We plan to start telling our families on Mother's Day starting with your grandparents. We've been thinking of fun creative ways to tell them, but so far there is no definite plan.

 

We go back in April 26 to see your little heartbeat. We can't wait! We're really hoping that the next two weeks go by fast so we get to see you again. So far I haven't been too sick or anything mostly just tired which isn't good with finals next week, but I'll make it through. Your dad is a little worried about how your taste buds are going to come out because all I want it spicy food. Jalapenos, banana peppers, salsa, you name it and I've been craving it. In fact I had chips and salsa for breakfast today!

 

Your dad has been very cute with you and is just as excited to meet you as I am. He texts me randomly throughout the day just to tell me how excited he is. It's kind of funny because we went out looking at baby stuff the other day and although he was excited I think for the first time I saw him actually showing a deep concern about bills. Usually your dad is very carefree and doesn't stress that stuff. Now that you're on the way we're seeing a whole new side of him. This ought to be interesting. All in all, we just can't wait for next December. We can't wait to meet you, to hold you, and of course to show you off to everyone! We love you Baby T!!

I don't even know where to start... Today I came home from work and found out some of the biggest news of our lives!!! We're having a baby!!! I wanted to tell Philip in some cute way, but I absolutely couldn't wait so I sent him a text telling him I just wanted to tell him congratulations.... Because he's going to be a daddy!!! I don't even really know if this is real. I mean I just took a test at home, but I couldn't be more excited!! Philip is so excited too. Even though I told him at work so we could only talk on the phone for a couple minutes, but we absolutely can't wait to add a baby to our family!!
