1 Year

It's hard to believe that we have now been married for a year. I can't believe how fast our first year went by. I can still remember all the stress leading up to our wedding, all the stress trying to find and buy our first home, and just preparing for life with just us. Even though Philip and I dated for 5 years before we were married and I didn't think there was anything else I didn't know about Philip, boy was I wrong. Even now we are still learning new stuff about each other. We both go to bed in different ways that totally don't coincide with each other. We both are picky eaters (even though Philip is way pickier!). So many ways that we are completely different for each other, but I couldn't think of someone who is more perfect for me and I would like to think I am perfect for him. I am the responsible, take care of things now type of person and Philip is carefree and just wants to have fun. So when I get all worry-wart it is nice to just have him there to calm me down and make me laugh. I love everyday with Philip. Waking up next to him and having him there when we go to bed. I love random trips to cupcake shops. I love just sitting here talking and laughing. I love talking about our future and our goals. I love knowing that I don't have to face any obstacles alone because Philip will always be there. Thanks Philip. I couldn't have asked for a better person to marry. I couldn't have asked for a better best friend. I love you so much!

Anniversary Trip... Part 3

We made it! 1 year down! May 21, was our 1 year anniversary (or it was supposed to be the end of the world). Thank goodness for us it didn't end so we could celebrate one year of marriage! I couldn't think of a better place to spend it then across the country with my husband and our family.
To celebrate our anniversary we slept in! Boy was that nice! Then we went into Old Town and walked King Street and did a little shopping.
This is the Washington Masonic Temple

While we were in Alexandria we picked up some cupcakes to eat since we had to leave the top of our wedding cake at home. We plan to eat that when we spend a night at the Zermatt.

 The National Archives building

Such a pretty building! I love all the architecture out there. So beautiful.

Love my husband so much! No matter what he is always there for me and can always make me smile! Thanks for a great first year of marriage babe!

Air and Space Smithsonian. Philip really loved this museum and I was such a bum. My feet hurt so bad. They did have some pretty cool stuff in there though.

Had to take a quick shot of the IRS out there.

Natural History Smithsonian. This is Philip and his best friend.
Man we are a good looking couple!

I think this is Tootsie's great great great grandma... No one else thought it was as funny as I did though..

My anniversary present. Thanks babe for getting me the biggest diamond in the world.. jk The Hope Diamond.

The cute Emsleigh! We had a blast hanging out with her.

After dinner Jared took us out to look at all of the different monuments.

Sunday was our last day out there and we decided to go to Gettysburg. It was so so pretty and green out there. It was crazy to see all the different battle fields out there. We were able to go to the museum and see a cool movie and then drive all around the grounds.

We both had a blast in DC and it was such a great idea to go out there for our anniversary. Thanks again Jared and Erin. You were the best tour guides around plus you have a really cute baby that we adore and love being around! Philip thanks for the best first year of marriage ever. I'm so glad that I get to call you my husband and will enjoy it for the rest of my life. You're seriously amazing!
